Verification

Before first use

Section titled “Before first use”
  • verify release checksums
  • read the release notes for the exact tag you plan to use
  • confirm the binary or bundle matches the documented release target

During operations

  • confirm the hidden storage mount is what you expect
  • confirm activation completed cleanly
  • do not assume an interrupted or partial state is harmless

After deactivation

Section titled “After deactivation”
  • verify the visible system state
  • dismount hidden storage
  • if anything looks wrong, treat the system as needing further review

Build from source when needed

Section titled “Build from source when needed”

The downloads page can honestly show that no stable release is available. In those cases, use the documented Nix build target in the repository and compare against published verification material when possible.
