Normal flow

- Confirm the expected tree is present
- Run
nails activate - Work inside the hidden environment

nails deactivate - Confirm the visible system state and dismount hidden storage
Emergency path
Section titled “Emergency path”nails emergency exists for time pressure.
It is not the preferred steady state path. The public evaluation summary and prior thesis material both note that emergency handling can leave more residue than the standard deactivate path.
Operator habits that matter
Section titled “Operator habits that matter”- avoid crossing accounts or identities between the visible and hidden environments
- keep the visible system believable on its own terms
- verify cleanup and storage dismount before you assume the system is ready for inspection
